DCIM300GOPROSomehow Blaze is 15!  For a dog with a not-so-great background, I had expected him to be crippled by hip dysplasia or to get hemangiosarcoma well before this point. But he’s still doing extremely well. I wish we had removed the mass on his front leg a few years ago, that’s the primarily limitation to his mobility. He’s even jumped on my bed recently (to get to a box of treats!).

In many ways he’s easier now – he doesn’t have the fitness to do the activities we used to do together. It’s much easier to satisfy his needs for exercise. His behavior challenges are still present but at lower levels than other points in his life.

He still goes with me almost all the time when I take the other dogs places. He still gets walks and training and his turns at activities.

Here’s an almost 10 year old video of agility training…. our training has a come a long way in that time and apparently rear crosses have been always been something my dogs are good at.
