We’re home! It’s so hard to believe that yesterday morning we were walking not just in another country, but on another continent than where we ended our day.  At the beginning of this year I didn’t even have a passport – and now my dog and I both do!

I was invited to go and visit our training mentors, Fanny and Thomas of fannygott.com/Klickerklok in Sweden. It seemed like a crazy idea and completely unrealistic, but pieces fell together and it actually happened! Griffin and I had an unforgettable month of dog training.

We left home on April 10th and got back yesterday, almost four whole weeks. In 2012 I went to a field training seminar in Michigan- it was four days long and I ended up coming home early because I was worried about my classes and students. Now I have even more classes and commitments – but getting home would not just be a few hours drive. The last time I flew somewhere was in about 2004 to participate in a horse show in Massachusetts, it was organized by someone else and I was traveling with a group.

During that month we saw herding, obedience, agility, and puppies. We met dog enthusiasts interested in all of those activities and more. I saw so many friendly and social dogs. I came home inspired for my teaching and training which is exactly what I needed.

Soon I’ll share more about our trip -we have a lot of catching up to do. My computer and camera did not have a good trip and are both off for repairs.  In the meantime, here’s some go out work we did one morning, I was pleased with his focus and I love the way Griffin moves into his sit – he knows he’s going to be stopping but he exaggerates the stop as he spins back to me.

(And an extra thanks to everyone who helped me get there, not panic, and helped manage classes and animals at home!)

I have so many notes, it’s taking a long time to catch up. And at this point I still can’t believe it really happened!
