November MN Trip – Good Vet News!

Viktor is now 24 months old.  We have been addressing his ‘valgus deviation of both front limbs’ since he was a young puppy.  Our rehab vet in Minnesota wanted to see him to evaluate his elbows and make a plan for  moving forward. On Monday we went to an eye Read more…

Getting Ready – Rally and Field Practice

Only a few weeks until our training friend Fanny Gott is here for a 2 day trial-prep seminar! We did the online class version of this a few years ago and loved it. Rally: We’ve been doing some trial prep for a change. Last weekend we did a rally fun Read more…

MN trip – July 2016

Our summer has been so busy – this trip should have happened 4-6 weeks sooner but we did finally make it up for our re-checks with the rehab vet! We also do adventures with our friends. While it’s a long drive, it’s never quite as bad as I think it Read more…

Seminar Part 2 – Self Control – Fanny Gott

Tonks went to her first training seminar a few weeks ago. And then the following weekend we got to do even more training together at a Self Control seminar with Fanny Gott. We’ve heard variations of this talk several times before, but we can always learn more about self control. Read more…

Minnesota – March – Rehab Rechecks

We have the best rehab vet! We’ve gone many times before for all of the dogs. This was a recheck day. Blaze:  Pain management is much better! We’re going to even try reducing one of his meds to twice a day instead of three times. Some of his exercises are Read more…

Looking Back: 2015 Goals

We set some goals yearly and quarterly – this can help keep me on track and not get too distracted by other things. I am an ‘over-packing’ ‘over-preparing’ sort of person and this also means I over-set goals – I’m happy having more than what we can accomplish than to Read more…

Happy Birthday Viktor!

How is he a year old already! We’ve been getting the same question ever since he was a puppy…. “What kind of dog is he?!”  back in February we were asked this question while at a health clinic event hosted by the area golden retriever club- and someone who shows Read more…

Minnesota October 2015: Rehab Rechecks

The fun part of our trip was the obedience trial, but the real reason we drove 12 hours (each way) was to take the dogs to our very favorite rehab vet and especially for Viktor (click here for our last update). We’re supposed to go back in a few months Read more…

September – Viktor Update – 10 Months

No new update on his health. We still have about a month until our next visit. He’s still on restricted activity with swimming 5 days a week and about 15 minutes of low-activity training walks and then some almost-no-activity training. In many ways he acts like a much younger puppy. Read more…
