One more week until classes start to get back to normal.
What we’ve done:
- We had a really warm day. I set up my agility equipment for the first time in 2012. The dogs got really muddy and had baths.
- Two days later it was cold, there was deep snow, and I couldn’t find my equipment.
- Taught my last class at one facility. After four years there, my Thursdays will now be going back to my 4-H’ers.
- Pet sitting for some dogs that get very creative while their owner is away. And an extra day with them due to the snow storm.
- Took Griffin to an agility run through at a place where we have a trial soon. I found out the floor was very slippery, but he did great work!
- Shopping trip where I came home with leather scraps, a plastic dinosaur, a plastic hippo, a wooden spoon, and more. What is it for? Scent discrimination in the “Advanced Teamwork” class!
- Read a lot of dog books. Mostly on behavior challenges. I wasn’t very impressed.
- Spent some extra time at the dog shelter on the 24th and 25th so that the usual volunteers could be at their family gatherings. I tried to shovel snow off of the outdoor area coverings but it didn’t work very well. Too much snow! I ended up doing a lot of targeting and nail trims indoors.
- Trained my dogs. Luna’s in an online class. Blaze and Griffin have upcoming events.
- Set some goals for 2013 and then completely changed them 3 times. I can’t decide what to focus on.
- Worked on our upcoming volunteer projects, including the 4-H judges seminar and a presentation for the Ohio Volunteer/Teen Conference.
- Prepared for the new sets of classes starting in a few weeks.
- Worked on a few big projects that we’re finally getting to.
I really miss having group classes!
