I want Griffin to be happy and comfortable for as long as possible. Early in the winter he had a noticeable decrease in range of motion. We’re really lucky in that the local veterinary teaching hospital now has a functioning sports medicine/rehab department which means we don’t have to do our long 12 hour drives to our beloved Minneapolis vet.
Because we have great pet insurance, we made use of many options available to us. Griffin had an initial consult, radio graphs, and some ultrasounds. This allowed the team to decide the best plan of action for Griffin.
Since then we’ve been visiting every week or two for some therapies done at the school. And on other days we have at-home activities to try to maintain/increase strength and flexibility as he ages.
Griffin thinks most of this is great. He’s very excited about the opportunities to earn “treats” (sometimes his dinner) and interact with props.
