We helped to host an APDT/WCRL rally trial last weekend. It was a great experience and even though we were new to hosting a trial and most of our workers had never been to a rally trial before.  It was actually much easier than I thought it would be!

I ran Blaze and Griffin. Blaze is easy, he’s 12 but he’s had so much training in the past (and really, most of that in his first three years) that it feels really, really easy with him.   Griffin is much better trained but did really horrible when in Level 1.  IMG_4600

I entered both of them in Level 2 for the last trial and I regretted it right until we started and it went well.  I seemed really crazy to have a group of people ready to stop my dogs if they ran off… but it really wasn’t needed. Both dogs stayed right with me and were incredibly responsive.  Blaze’s run deserves it’s own story at a later date.

The small number of students did really well and seemed to enjoy the opportunity.  The other people attending also seemed to have a good time and were happy for more local trialing opportunities.
